The Tasmanian Government’s 2024-25 State Budget has just been announced, with an additional $31 million allocated to the tourism sector over the next four years. This includes $12 million to support the 2030 Visitor Economy Strategy, aimed at managing and growing tourism sustainably. The budget also includes a $50 million Regional Tourism Loan Scheme, providing low-interest loans to support businesses in regional areas.
The upcoming cruise season will see 16 ships visiting, despite a reduction that has impacted several regional ports, including Burnie. We recently collaborated with Tourism Tasmania and TasPorts to host seven shore excursion operators and cruise line representatives, giving them a firsthand experience of the North West and the unique offerings of our region, positioning us well for future itineraries and growth.
Lastly, there are some fantastic regional Digital Ready social media and OffSeason workshops coming up, and we encourage you to register to attend.
